Who is this course for?

The Advanced Life Support (ALS) course is a challenging and demanding experience for most clinical colleagues, but one that provides an excellent opportunity to develop key, time critical skills to enhance patient safety.

The course

  • A-E assessment refresher-In this session we explore key aspects of clinical examination required for ALS course progression utilising the A-E assessment strategy
  • Initial resuscitation-this session gives candidates the opportunity to refresh skills on confirmation of cardiac arrest,
  • initial resuscitation and manual defibrillation.

Course Requirements

Here at ICRT we offer all candidates the option of attending an optional ALS preparation session. These sessions are by no way mandatory, but feedback from those who have previously attended these sessions have found them to be extremely beneficial, with candidates feeling better prepared for their course.

Course Information

This is an assessed aspect of an ALS course  Team Leader skills-Instructors will guide you through the transition required from a good team member to being a good team leader. In this session the Instructor will provide you with a credible method by which the resuscitation should be managed, using technical and non-technical skills and providing you the opportunity to practice this.
